Background

For this project, we had to code a website for a font we picked. I chose the font Condor created by graphic designer David Jonathan Ross.

Process

I picked Condor because of its unique look and art deco-inspired design. When coding my site I tried to keep this look and in the end, I believe it was very successful. We had to make a single-page site so everything is viewable in a single scroll. laying out information, picking colors, and obviously learning to code were some of the challenges I faced with this project.

I ended up making a lot more than I could manage but somehow pulled it off. This was my first coding project and I feel I learned a lot in the process. I leave this class with a working knowledge of HTML and CSS as well as knowing the pain and frustration that can sometimes come with coding as a whole.

I also came across many bugs while finishing this site. One is the animation portion of the site. I wanted to have a grid of four animations but they wouldn’t change when I wanted them to, many of them overlapping and animating the same rather than all separately. I also had many issues with the mobile version, mostly because of time constraints I never got to spend as much time as I would have liked on it. If I were to go back I’d spend more time on these issues and really get them fleshed out rather than unfinished as they are now.
